After Bollywood celebs like Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap and Hansal Mehta, who have spoken against the ban imposed on Pakistani artistes working in India, actress Radhika Apte has shown her support feeling they (Pakistani artistes) shouldn’t be banned.
While attending a launch event for a watch brand ‘Swatch’, Radhika was asked about this current issue, to which she replied, “I think if a Swiss watch can come to the country and have their own corporate stores, I think a Pakistani actor should come here and do a film here in India. That’s my statement.” [sic]
Post the Uri attacks, political party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had asked Pakistani actors like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan to leave India, which was further followed by a demand of ban on all Pakistani artists working in the Indian film industry.
A few days earlier, even the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPAA) has passed a resolution to ban all Pakistani artistes and technicians.
Let’s wait for more updates on this.
