Radhika Apte has always been known for her bold and wonderful acting. She is a household name for the Netflix viewers who have seen her in ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Ghoul’ and ‘Lust Stories’. Radhika is the brand ambassador for beauty brand Clinique and her latest advertisement for it has landed her in trouble. It was a commercial for Marico’s True Roots Botanical Hair Tonic.
As per a report in SpotboyE, the advertisement has gotten her in trouble for allegedly not following celebrity guidelines as laid down by the Advertising Standards Council of India(ASCI). According to the commercial, the oil must stop the growth of premature hair within 90 days from the roots. But as per ASCI, its the miscommunication happening regarding the real function of the hair oil. Due to the virtue of Kesh Ranjak ingredients, one can only expect the hair to turn a shade darker and not black as per what the commercial claims.
The commercial states the cause for greying hair is the lack of melanin. The oil is supposed to go on till the roots and help in turning the grey hair black. This will cause the customers to be misguided about the product as the graphics used in the advertisement are misrepresentative of the product’s real function.
Radhika has now caught herself in a mess involving the ASCI.
