Rahul Dev gets emotional as he recalls raising son alone post wife Rina Dev’s death: It looks easy in film

Actor Rahul Dev, who is a father to son Siddharth Dev opened up about raising his son alone, after the death of his wife, Rina Dev. The actor opened up about it when he recalled raising his son alone. He got emotional and broke down while recalling that time. Rahul spoke about parenting and said it is not easy at all.

The actor said that he does not wish that kind of situation on anyone. He mentioned it looks easy in films, but shared that it’s all not easy at all.

“Parenting is not easy at all. Women have a big hand in raising children, the way they understand children, probably because it comes out of them. The kind of patience they have for children, I tried a lot, but there were times when I would lose my cool, my frame of mind. I had to try to be both mom and dad,” Rahul Dev told Connect FM Canada.

He continued, “When I would go to parent-teacher meetings at school, I would see mostly mothers. Rarely I would meet one guy but his wife would be there. At that time, I would feel a sense of deep insecurity. I would feel where are the men.”

The actor further added, “It’s very painful. A lot of it I don’t want to remember. A lot of it I would not wish on anyone, that kind of situation. It looks easy in films, so many times films show that someone became a widower. But starting again is not easy at all.”

Rahul Dev tied the knot with Rina Dev in 1998. The couple were together for 18 long years, and married for 11 out of them. They have a son together, Siddharth Dev. Rina Dev succumbed to cancer in 2009.

Rahul is currently in a relationship with actor Mugdha Godse. Mugdha Godse and he have a 14-year long age gap.
