A tribute to the late legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor has been planned at the fourth edition of the Delhi International Film Festival (DIFF), which will open in the capital on December 5. Over 210 films from 68 Countries will be showcased at the extravaganza.

Organised by Social Circle, the chief guest for the gala will be Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

The opening ceremony will be held at the Central Park in central Delhi’s Connaught Place. Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez’s film “Definition of Fear” will open the festival with a screening at the NDMC Convention Centre, while the closing ceremony will see a tribute to Raj Kapoor with Russian documentary “Comrade Raj Kapoor”, read a statement from the organisers.

“Zero”, a short science fiction film produced by YouTube and directed by David Victory, will also be featured at the film festival, where filmmaker Ketan Mehta will be honoured with the Minar-E-Dilli Award.

Names like Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ketan Mehta, Rehana Sultan, Mehul Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Piyush Mishra, Omi Vaidya, Arvind Gupta, Rituparna Sengupta and other actors and filmmakers will take part in the festival.

The event, which will conclude on December 10, will showcase over 150 films from 90 countries, 200 artworks, fashion show, Sufi night and a ‘kavi sammelan’

After the inaugural event at Central Park, the Festival will continue from 6th December to 10th December.
