Shilpa Shetty’s husband, business tycoon Raj Kundra was arrested a few months back for allegedly distributing pornographic videos. He was booked in July under many sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act and the Information Technology Act for allegedly distributing/ transmitting sexually explicit videos. After staying in jail, he was finally granted bail in September. Also, last week, the Supreme Court granted protection from arrest to Kundra in connection with the FIR. As per a report in Pinkvilla, Shilpa’s husband issued a statement where he called the entire thing a ‘witch hunt’.
In the statement, Raj said, “After much contemplation, considering there are many misleading and irresponsible statements and articles floating around and my silence has been misconstrued for weakness. I would like to start by stating that I have NEVER been involved in the production and distribution of ‘pornography’ EVER in my life.”
He added, “This whole episode has been nothing but a witch hunt. The matter is sub judice so I can not elucidate, but I am ready to face trial and have full faith in the judiciary, where the truth will prevail”.
Raj also stated that he has already been pronounced “guilty” by the media and that his family and he have been subjected to a lot of pain (continuously), and violating his human and constitutional rights at different levels.
Raj Kundra further said that the trolling, negativity and toxic public perception has been very ‘debilitating’. He also said that he doesn’t hide his face in shame, but wishes that his privacy is not intruded anymore with the continued ‘MEDIA TRIAL’. He added that his priority has always been his family, and nothing else matters at this juncture.
