Raj Kundra Pornography Case: ED files money laundering case against Shilpa Shetty’s husband

Shilpa Shetty’s husband, businessman Raj Kundra has landed in trouble yet again over the pornography case. As reported by ANI, the Enforcement Directorate has registered a money laundering case against Raj Kundra in connection with the alleged adult films racket case. For the unversed, Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai Police in July 2021 for allegedly running a porn racket with operations outside India as well. He was also accused for allegedly producing and distributing porn films using a subscriber-driven mobile app called ‘Hotshots’. He was in jail for almost two months.

Reportedly, ED filed the case against Shilpa’s husband after investigating financial transactions related to the racket. Transactions of all those who have been involved are also probed by the ED. India Today reported that the details of all the accused were collected and a case against Raj was reportedly filed last week. The agency will probe the angle of money laundering. They may start questioning next week. Along with Kundra, Ryan Thorpe, the IT head of his company was also arrested last year for the alleged involvement in the case.

ANI report states that ED sources said “Kundra formed a company named Arms Prime Media Limited in February 2019 and developed an app named Hotshots that was later sold to a UK based company Kenrin.” Kenrin. Pradeep Bakshi, the CEO is actually Raj Kundra’s brother-in-law. “For the maintenance of the app, Kundra’s company Viaan Industries had tied up with Kenrin and for this, the transaction of crores of rupees was made to 13 bank accounts of Viaan,” sources said.

After being arrested, Raj was granted on bail in September on a surety of Rs 50,000. Post that whenever he used to get spotted, he used to cover himself strangely. After the bail, he had issued a statement saying that the entire episode was nothing more than a ‘witch hunt.’ He refuted all the charges levelled against him.
