Raj Kundra Case: Mumbai Police records Shilpa Shetty’s statement

On Friday, businessman Raj Kundra’s police custody was extended till July 27 in porn app case. Following court’s order, a team of Crime Branch arrived at Raj and his wife Shilpa Shetty’s Juhu residence. The team also recorded Shilpa Shetty’s statement regarding the case. Kundra was also taken to his residence where the police conducted searches and recorded Shetty’s statement.

As per several reports, the Crime Branch team questioned the Hungama 2 actress if she had any knowledge of her husband’s alleged links to pornographic film business. The officials apparently spent around six hours at Shetty’s residence.

As Shilpa was director of Viaan Industries, cops decided to question her in this case. The officials also revealed that the actress has later resigned from her post. Apparently after their search at Kundra’s residence the officials have seized a laptop.

According to ANI report, Mumbai Police had told the court that they suspect that money earned from pornography by Kundra was used for online betting. And that’s why transactions between Raj Kundra’s Yes bank account and United Bank of Africa account need to be investigated. “In the WhatsApp chats, we have found that Raj Kundra was talking about a deal about selling 121 videos for USD 1.2 million. This deal seems to be on the international level,” Mumbai police said.

Meanwhile, Kundra has filed a petition in Bombay High Court, challenging his arrest. The businessman has termed his arrest illegal.
