Raj Kundra REVEALS wife Shilpa Shetty was hesitant about his acting debut in UT69

Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra is all set to make his acting debut in his own biopic, UT69. It was on Wednesday when he revealed the biopic’s trailer and also took down his mask after a very long time. Now, Raj has opened up about his wife Shilpa Shetty’s reaction to the biopic and it’s something you wouldn’t want to miss out on! Opening about the same, Raj revealed that Shilpa Shetty was hesitant about his idea at first.

Raj Kundra opens up about wife Shilpa Shetty’s reaction to his acting debut

In an interaction with News18, Raj Kundra revealed that his wife Shilpa Shetty thought that UT69 wouldn’t get made as it is quite dicey. The debutant actor said jokingly, “She (Shilpa) was a few feet away from me when I decided to tell her that I am making a film. I didn’t want to go too close to her.” He added, “I told her that I have a script and was waiting for her answer. When I turned away from her, a flying chappal came at my face. I think she thought that the idea was a little dicey at first. Maybe she thought that the film wouldn’t get made.” 

Further, he also shared how he convinced her after the narration. He said, “He (director Shahnawaz Ali)  gave her a very small narration. She thought about it and realized that it wasn’t about the case against the system in any way. She felt it was a very human story.” He added, ”She was very supportive. She asked me, ‘Tu acting kar lega (will you be able to act)?’ I told her that I will be able to since I have done some method acting by going to jail.”

The Raj Kundra starrer UT69 revolves around the story of Raj’s tenure in jail. In 2021, Raj Kundra faced an arrest for the alleged creation and distribution of pornographic content. He was granted bail in 2022. Raj Kundra’s biopic UT69 is all set to release on 3 November, 2023.
