Raj Kundra to appear for questioning in money laundering case days after ED raid- Report

There’s no rest for Raj Kundra when it comes to controversies. As per reports coming in, the businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband has been asked to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in an alleged money laundering case connected to the circulation of pornographic content. For the unversed, Kundra was arrested in 2021 by the Mumbai Police on charges related to the creation and distribution of pornographic content.

This news comes just days after the ED raided Raj’s Mumbai residence and office. Reports suggest that after questioning Kundra during the raid, the agency decided to deepen the investigation and has thus summoned him for further questioning. Read on to know the details.

Raj Kundra to appear before ED for questioning

As per an India Today, a source from the ED has revealed that Raj Kundra has been summoned to appear before the agency for questioning. The insider confirmed that Raj will be questioned in the money laundering case on Monday, December 2 at 11:00 am. The report also stated that Kundra is required to report to the ED’s Mumbai office, where he will face questioning. Others connected to the case have also been summoned for interrogation.

The ED has been investigating the financial trail and proceeds generated from the creation and distribution of adult content. On Friday, the agency conducted raids at multiple locations in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh, including Kundra’s home and office in the city as part of the money laundering case linked to the alleged distribution of pornographic and adult movies.

Following reports of the ED raid on his properties in Mumbai, Raj Kundra took to his Instagram Stories to issue a statement. He wrote, “To whom it may concern, while the media seems to have a flair for drama, let’s set the record straight: I’m fully complying with the ongoing investigation that has been unfolding for the last four years. As for the claims of ‘associates’, ‘pornography,’ and ‘money laundering,’ let’s just say that no amount of sensationalism will cloud the truth. In the end, justice will prevail!”

He added, “A note to the media: It’s unacceptable to repeatedly drag my wife’s name into unrelated matters. Please respect the boundaries! #ED.”
