The ongoing shoot of TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan signals a forthcoming cinematic treat, with the legendary duo of Superstars Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan. Recent BTS glimpses unveil the stars clad in sharp suits, evoking nostalgia and excitement. This reunion marks a significant milestone, as they last shared screen space in ‘Hum’ 33 years ago, with Vettaiyan heralding Amitabh’s Tamil debut, a momentous occasion for fans.

In the pictures, both Rajinikanth and Amitabh are dressed in suits. While Bachchan is seen in a dark blue blazer, white shirt, and grey waistcoat and trousers, Rajinikanth sports a dark blue blazer, black shirt and trousers. In the first picture, they’re striking a pose standing next to each other. In the second one, they smile at each other sharing a hug.

Fans react to the viral pictures

Enthusiastic reactions flood social media, with fans dubbing them, “Two timeless TITANs of Indian cinema, forever and together.”  and drawing parallels to their iconic personas.  Another one said, “Shahenshah and Baasha.”  Many other reactions to the pictures were found too.

 The ensemble cast, including names like Rana Daggubati and Manju Warrier, adds depth and intrigue to the project, promising a cinematic spectacle upon its October release.

Post-Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth embarks on his 171st venture, ‘Coolie,’ helmed by director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film’s title teaser, featuring Rajinikanth reciting a famed line from ‘Ranga,’ teases fans with glimpses of what’s to come. However, legal complications arise with the background score, prompting a copyright dispute with composer Ilaiyaraaja. Amidst these developments, speculation swirls around Rajinikanth’s potential collaboration with director Nelson for the sequel to their 2023 blockbuster ‘Jailer,’ heightening anticipation for the superstar’s future endeavours.
