Rajkumar Hirani REVEALS what he learned from filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra during Munnabhai MBBS

Recently, a milestone was achieved as several Bollywood celebs came together to cherish and celebrate the 45-year-long journey of the ace filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films in the entertainment industry. Among the many celebrities who paid tribute to the acclaimed director-producer, Rajkumar Hirani opened up about working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra and shared a few insights.

The ace filmmaker shed light on the lessons he learned from their collaboration on one of the most remarkable movie, Munnabhai MBBS.

The 3 Idiots director reflects on his partnership with Vidhu Vinod Chopra during the times of the making of Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi’s Munnabhai MBBS. He opened up about the experience he gained while working with him. Rajkumar said, “From ‘Munna Bhai MBBS,’ I did learn a lot from him on perseverance. How you keep slogging, slogging, and tirelessly work till you get it right on the paper.” Reflecting over the wisdom he gained from the experience, he also highlighted Chopra’s dedication towards creating a perfect craft.

Further, Rajkumar Hirani added that one thing Vidhu Vinod Chopra has said which helped him in his filmmaking journey. He said, “Make the film that you want to make and not the one they want you to make.” This thought and a saying is a testament to Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s testament of creating stories that is a mark of authenticity, and also something that is valued among filmmakers.

Meanwhile on the workfront, Rajkumar Hirani is directing the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki, which is all set to release in December. On the other hand, Vidhu Vinod Chopra is gearing for 12th Fail, starring Vikrant Massey in the lead. 12th Fail is all set for a theatrical release on 27 October, 2023.
