RajKummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor begin shooting for Mr & Mrs Mahi

After presenting a fresh and sparkling chemistry in the 2021 release horror-comedy Roohi, RajKummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor are reuniting for the Sharan Sharma directorial Mr & Mrs Mahi. The announcement of the film was made in November last year on social media by the makers accompanied by a heartfelt voiceover by both RajKummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. And today, the duo has begun shoot for the film.

Mr & Mrs Mahi is a film about two people who help each other in realizing their dreams, set in the backdrop of cricket and the tagline of the film goes, ‘No dream is ever chased alone’. This morning Karan took to his Instagram stories to share a picture of the clapboard of the film, announcing the beginning of shoot. He wrote, “Best of luck to the entire team of #MrAndMrsMahi for starting the first innings! Knock it out of the park (sic).”

This was the first film of RajKummar announced after his wedding with Patralekhaa last Novemeber. Directed by Sharan, the film marks his reunion with Janhvi, who he directed in his debut directorial, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. Mr & Mrs Mahi features RajKummar as Mahendra and Janhvi as Mahima and will be releasing on October 7, 2022. It is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions and the story is written by Sharan and Nikhil Mehrotra.

RajKummar has wrapped up the shoot of the remake of HIT The First Case with Sanya Malhotra, and apart from that he has quite an interesting line up of films in the coming years which includes Bheed, Monica, O My Darling and his OTT debut series Guns & Gulaabs with Raj & DK. On the other hand, Janhvi is currently simultaneously also shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal with Varun Dhawan and has Milli and Good Luck Jerry in the pipeline.
