I watched Fanney Khan and I was very touched by Lata’s story. Even I have gone through body shaming and I couldn’t stop myself from making this video. Thank you Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for choosing this topic. It means a lot to young girls like me. @RakeyshOmMehra @fanneykhanfilm pic.twitter.com/OSzzaYBiIc

Directed by Atul Manjrekar, ‘Fanney Khan’, revolves around the story of Anil Kapoor and his on-screen daughter Lata Sharma played by Pihu Sand, who is an aspirational singer but bound by the society as she is fat shamed at every step in her life. Besides Anil and Pihu, the film also features Rajkummar Rao and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It hit the silver screens on August 3, clashing with Rishi Kapoor’s ‘Mulk’ and Irrfan Khan’s ‘Karwaan.’
