Rakul Preet Singh is back on her favourite sets as she starts shooting for De De Pyaar De 2, Anil Kapoor gives first clap for Ajay Devgn starrer

Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh starrer De De Pyaar De 2 shoot has finally begun in Mumbai. The rom-com is a sequel to a popular 2019 film that won the hearts of the audience. As the film is all set to release next year, it has finally gone on floors in the presence of Anil Kapoor giving the first clap.

Rakul Preet took to her Instagram stories and shared a photo in which she is seen getting ready. The actress wrote, “Back to my fav set !! DDPD 2 Begins”. In her hand, she is also holding a script. The filming commenced in Mumbai with a traditional muhurat puja ceremony, graced by the esteemed presence of Anil Kapoor. The actor not only honored the occasion with his presence but also marked the beginning of filming with the first clap, extending his best wishes to the entire team.

If reports are to be believed, R Madhavan will join the cast and will have intense yet comic face-off with Ajay Devgn. A source revealed Pinkvilla, “Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan had a horrific face-off in Shaitaan. Now, come 2025, the duo will again lock horns in De De Pyaar De 2. However, this time around, their on-screen chemistry will have a complete makeover, as the face-off will have a lot of comic undertones.”

In March, T-Series and Luv Films confirmed De De Pyaar sequel on Instagram. Sharing an official note, they wrote, “De De Pyaar De 2 will release on 1st May 2025. The film is directed by @anshul3112, and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Luv Ranjan & @gargankur82. Written by @tarun.j.85 & Luv Ranjan.”

Talking about De De Pyaar De, it revolved around a 50-year-old Ashish (played by Ajay), a divorcee who falls for 26-year-old Ayesha (played by Rakul). In the film, Tabu plays Ajay’s ex-wife. The story sheds light on the backlash Ajay faces for falling in love with a girl the age of his kids.
