Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma says the promotional song ‘Khallas Veerappan’ for his forthcoming movie ‘Veerappan’ has been recreated from ‘Khallas’ — a song from his 2002 film ‘Company’. Shot on actress Zareen Khan, ‘Khallas Veerappan’ is a very apt throwback to ‘Khallas’, says the director.
“As promotional song for ‘Veerappan’, ‘Khallas Veerappan’ has been recreated from ‘Khallas’ song from ‘Company’. It’s to be shot on Zarine Khan,” Varma tweeted on Thursday.
“Since ‘Company’ was about gangsters and ‘Veerappan’ was a gangster from jungle, ‘Khallas Veerappan’ song is a very apt throwback to ‘Khallas’,” he added.
Varma also shared that while ‘Veerappan’ will “glorify violence, Zareen Khan will sexify ‘Veerappan'”.
During at an event in Delhi on Wednesday, he shared that there are no songs in the film and ‘Khallas Veerappan’, composed by Sharib Toshi, is just a promotional song.
The film will hit the screens on May 27.
