Ram Gopal Varma recently shared cryptic tweets about marriage and divorce following the parting of Hardik Pandya and Natasa Stankovic. Recently actress Natasa and cricketer Hardik took their Instagram handles to announce their separation. Taking to X, the director of ‘Rangeela’ expressed his views by stating, “MARRIAGES are made in HELL and DIVORCES are made in HEAVEN.”
He further questioned the longevity of modern marriages, saying, “I wonder if today’s MARRIAGE in reality does even last as long as the number of days the parents perform the MARRIAGE.”

Varma continued his critique by comparing marriage to alternative care options for the elderly, asserting, “A paid nurse is a far better option than to marry for being looked after in old age. The nurse will do it as a paid job whereas a wife will make the old man feel eternally guilty.” He added his perspective on love and marriage with the statement, “LOVE is BLIND and MARRIAGE is an EYE OPENER.”

He also commented on the nature of sustaining a marriage, stating, “A marriage can work only if you have an extraordinary ability of falling in love again and again and again with the same person.” Concluding his series of posts, he remarked on the financial burden marriages can place on parents, saying, “Considering the super high rate of divorces today, the biggest idiots are the poor parents who spend through their noses for the marriage.”

These statements came shortly after Hardik Pandya and Natasa Stankovic announced their split. The couple, who had three wedding ceremonies, shared a joint statement on Instagram. “After 4 years of being together, Hardik and I have decided to mutually part ways. We tried our best together and gave it our all, and we believe this is in the best interest for the both of us. This was a tough decision for us to make, given the joy, mutual respect and companionship we enjoyed together and as we grew a family.” The couple has a three-year-old son, Agastya.
