Like every director has his own forte, Ram Gopal Varma likes to make films on real life figures with lasting impressions. However, his next is going to based on a fictional character. He would attempt to discover former Tamilnadu CM Jayalalitha who recently passed away, through a close friend’s eyes.
Varma took to Twitter and wrote, “Just registered my new film title “Shashikala” it’s the story of a very dearest closest friend of a politician and completely fictional”.

For those uninitiated, Sasikala Natarajan is a politician based out of Tamil Nadu and associated to All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), the same political party Jayalalalitha belonged to.
” ‘Shashikala’ is going to be a very very sincere, from the heart Tamilan love story and absolutely nothing to with fictional non politics. Fictional non politics of Shashikala have a fundamental contradiction with highly truthful but assumed non truths of Jayalalitha. I immensely respect Jayalalitha but I honestly respect Shasikalaji a little bit much much much more. Jayalalitha ji respected Shasikala ji much more than she respected anybody else proves why I should call my film ‘Shasikala’. Jayalalitha seen through the eyes of Shasikala is much more poetic and honest thought than seeing Jayalalitha only through Jayalalitha, “ the filmmaker wrote, in a series of Tweets.
Varma is presently working on ‘Sarkar 3’ which stars Amitabh Bachchan in lead.
