Ram Madhvani REVEALS how he brought back Sushmita Sen & Chandrachur Singh in ‘Aarya’

After ‘Neerja’, Ram Madhvani is all set to serve us with crime thriller ‘Aarya’ that will be streaming on Disney + Hotstar on June 19. ‘Aarya’ is an adaptation of a Dutch series ‘Penoza’. When asked Ram how he came up with ‘Aarya’, the filmmaker said, “I was given to watch ‘Penoza’ and my wife and I watched it and we felt that it is a very strong character. It took nine years for me to get it till here. I thought of making a feature film and back then there were no OTT platforms. It was very depressing and disappointing that the feature film didn’t happen. This is like a Shakespearan story in a way as there is tragedy, emotions, crime everything. Thankfully, Disney + Hotstar asked me to make this as it was still in my heart. Sushmita Sen has played a very strong character.”

On asked how he approached Sushmita Sen and Chardrachur Singh for the project, Ram said, “When I spoke to Sushmita Sen and Chardrachur Singh and told them about my process and system and I worked in ‘Neerja’ with the same system and process, they liked my work, thankfully. They liked my material, process, work and they said ‘yes’. I am very thankful and blessed that they said yes. When the trailer released, there was a universal love that has come because of these two actors. Having said that I wish when you will watch the episodes on June 19, I hope you will forget Sushmita Sen and Chardrachur Singh. You will remember Aarya and Tez.”
