Is Rana Daggubati replacing Nana Patekar in ‘Housefull 4’?

Nana Patekar, who decided to leave ‘Housefull 4’ after Tanushree Dutta levelled sexual harassment allegations against him, has reportedly been replaced by Rana Daggubati. The film already had its director Sajid Khan replaced by Farhad Samji for Sajid’s alleged role in sexual harassment. ‘Housefull 4‘ is a successful franchise starring Akshay Kumar and all the previous films have a stunning record at the box office.

As reported by Deccan Chronicle, an industry source has revealed that, “Interestingly, the name of Rana came as a sudden choice. Rana’s name sounds like Nana, and then the makers decided to ask the south actor if he was keen on working in the film and whether he would have the dates for the same. While Rana seems to have agreed, the paperwork and other details are being worked out at the moment and an official announcement will come soon.” It is being said that Rana will join the team of ‘Housefull 4’ in the coming week.

The film was embroiled into controversy when Akshay Kumar took a stand against sexual harassment and said that he will not work with proven offenders. The #MeToo movement in Bollywood has spread like a wildfire and it has raised serious question marks over women’s safety in the industry.
