Post Tanushree Dutta’s allegations against Nana Patekar, the actor was voluntarily ousted from ‘Housefull 4′ and Rana Daggubati stepped into the shoes of Nana’s role. Rana will play a threat in ‘Housefull 4’ and it was revealed by none other than screenwriter-director, Farhad Samji. Sajid Khan, who was earlier directing the movie, walked out of it as he too was accused of sexual misconduct. After that, Farhad was taken on board to direct the movie.
Rana started shooting for his part in November. In a telephonic interview with IANS, Farhad was told about Rana’s role. He said, “I think it is too early to talk about his role. It’s an important role. He is playing the threat in the film.”
Talking about directing the movie Farhad said, “It would have been difficult for me had I not written the screenplay and dialogues of the film. Whenever I narrate, I do it like a stand-up act. All the actors, even producers make it a point that I am present on sets. I was in Jaisalmer while the shooting was happening there.”
While talking about the pressure of directing, he said, “Had it been three directors, then also there would have been pressure. The same goes for directing solo. Pressure is there because it is a big franchise and is releasing on Diwali.”
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, ‘Housefull 4’ stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde in lead roles. It is scheduled to release next year on October 26, 2019.
