Ranbir-Alia in ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’ remake? Juhi Chawla definitely wants that

With films like ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, ‘Darr’, ‘Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke’, ‘Yes Boss’, ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’ and more to her credit, Juhi Chawla was one of the top heroines in the 90s. Her films were loved by the audiences and were entertaining, without a doubt.

It is the season of remakes in Bollywood, be it songs or movies, and taking that into consideration Juhi Chawla, in an interview with DNA, was asked if she wanted any of her film to be remade today. To this, Juhi said, “Maybe ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’.” The film starred Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla in the lead.

She added, “When we made the film, the media was just beginning to explode, it was too early to talk about channel wars, TRPs, etc. There was so much behind-the-scenes politics, about politicians etc, that probably people didn’t get the nuances at that time. But it makes so much sense today, I think that film ought to be worked upon now.”

Who does Juhi think should star in the remake? “Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, ” she says, “I recently saw ‘Sanju’ (starring Ranbir) and ‘Raazi’ (starring Alia) and both are superlative. I would like them in ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’ if it is remade.”
