Ranbir Kapoor & Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra release date locked, Aims to release next year

Ayan Mukerji’s directorial venture Brahmastra has been in the making since its inception now. As it is touted to be a sci-fi film and heavy on VFX, the post-production work only delayed the project. However, last year, it was announced that Brahmastra will be releasing on December 4, 2020, but even the COVID-19 pandemic played a spoilsport as the makers had to defer the project once again. Well, now, the latest report in Pinkvilla suggests that Karan Johar’s production venture Brahmastra release date has finally been locked and they are aiming to release it next year.

The same portal mentioned that Brahmastra will hit the big screens on September 9, 2022. “The release coincides with a partial holiday on account of Ganesh Visarjan, especially in Maharashtra. The makers sat down to discuss multiple dates and this is the one which they are targeting at the moment. An official announcement shall be made within the next few weeks,” revealed a source, adding further that the announcement will be made soon which will be the final one and there will be no further delay. 

“The work on the VFX front is happening in full swing and everyone around is very satisfied with the final outcome of the world that Ayan had in his imagination. While the film is going to be a solo release on September 9, there is a talk in the industry that it wouldn’t face any opposition in the second week too given that the stakes involved are too high and it’s among the costliest films of Hindi film industry,” the source added.

As the Brahmastra release date is finalised, it brings the real-life couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor together for the first time onscreen. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna.
