Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone come to ‘Tamasha’ producers rescue

Well, even though Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor‘s ‘Tamasha’ was highly appreciated by the critics, it failed to collect a good amount of moolah at the box-office. Ranbir and Deepika put forth the best ‘Tamasha’ as possible in their film but, somehow it could do only an average business and well, probably that is why the stars have decided to give back some portion of their fees back to the makers.

According to the recent reports, Ranbir and Deepika have jointly decided to give back approximately 15 crores to the producers of ‘Tamasha.’ The film produced by UTV and Sajid Nadiadwala had to shell out a lot of money in order to pay it to the distributors. The fact that ex-lovers are being featured in this film had set high expectations for the makers who thought that this factor would work wonders at the box-office. This happened during Karan Johar’s film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.’ But, unfortunately, ‘Tamasha’ couldn’t make it to the top grosser films of 2015 despite a positive word of mouth. Therefore, in order to share the financial loss incurred by the makers, Ranbir has decided to give approximately 10 crores to the producer and Deepika has reportedly decided to give back 5 crores.

Well, it’s a big deal for Ranbir because none of his 2015 films could make it big at the box-office. His ‘Bombay Velvet’ and ‘Roy’ failed miserably at the box-office. Deepika, on the other hand, had a glorious year. Her ‘Piku’ with Amitabh Bachchan and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ with Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra were one of the top grossers of that year.

Ranbir is now gearing up for his upcoming films like ‘Jagga Jasoos’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.’
