Ranbir Kapoor debuts his ripped avatar as Balli in new Shamshera stills

Ranbir Kapoor is gearing for the release of his action dhamaka Shamshera. With days to go for its release, the makers are out with some epic stills of the actor. He is slaying in his rugged and ripped avatar in the new pics dropped by YRF,. In the now-viral pics Ranbir Kapoor is seen with cuts and bruises as he prepares for battle with his axe in hand.

Sharing the pics on Instagram the makers wrote, “Brave & action-packed! Our Balli ? Shamshera releasing in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu. Celebrate #Shamshera with #YRF50 only at a theatre near you on 22nd July.”

Speaking about Ranbir Kapoor’s transformation director Karan Malhotra says, “Ranbir has worked very hard to own up to the roles of Shamshera and Balli. The idea behind him building a particular physique for the film came from the fact that I wanted the audiences to feel his internal strength and resolve every time they saw him on screen. So, keeping that core idea in mind, I manoeuvred Ranbir towards building up a body which added more strength to his character in the film.”

The story of ‘Shamshera’ is set in the fictitious city of Kaza. A warrior tribe is enslaved and tortured by the ruthless Shuddh Singh. How a man rises among the slaves to be a leader and a legend as he fights for the freedom of his tribe.

Directed by Karan Malhotra, this action extravaganza also features Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Shamshera is set to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on July 22.
