Ranbir Kapoor is being showered with a lot of love and praises from everywhere for his portrayal as Sanjay Dutt in the film, ‘Sanju‘. There is no denying that he is worthy of all the appreciation coming his way. Sanjay Dutt’s life has been full of controversies, right from his affairs to his drug addiction to the jail term. Ranbir has played the character to perfection even when it comes to doing the scene when he is high on drugs. But this isn’t his first encounter with drugs. Yes, Ranbir has confessed to doing it in real life as well, in the past.
Ranbir was under bad influence in college and has tried drugs. In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, Ranbir confessed, “I have tried drugs when I was in college and got into bad influence. But I realised that nothing will happen in life if I continue with drugs. When we did that section, I did a lot of research.”

Ranbir feels ‘Sanju’ has a lesson for the children. He says, “This film is a good learning for children and youth that five-minutes of ecstasy can destroy your entire life. It’s the worst thing possible. Sanjay was much stronger, a fighter who came out of it and became a star.”
Ranbir may not have done hard drugs but he is addicted to one thing. Revealing what it is, he says, “Every man makes mistakes in his life. I am addicted to nicotine now and it’s worse than drugs. And I have an addiction for sweets as well.”
We have to say, it takes a lot of guts to come out in the open and confess such things. Any form of addiction is bad and Ranbir has learnt that soon enough. We hope he gives up on nicotine soon.
