Ranbir Kapoor reveals why he couldn’t get married to girlfriend Alia Bhatt this year

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are going strong ever since they made their first public appearance as a couple at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception in 2018. Since then they have made several appearances together, in fact, they will be sharing the screen space for the first time in Ayan Mukerji’s upcoming fantasy drama ‘Brahmastra’.

Since the past few months speculations surrounding Ranbir and Alia’s wedding are rife. In a recent interview, Ranbir has finally spoken about his marriage plans. In fact, he even said that had pandemic not hit the world he would have already been married by now.

In a recent interview with film journalist Rajeev Masand, Ranbir said that deal would have been “sealed” had the “pandemic not hit our lives“. Speaking about getting hitched the ‘Barfi’ actor said, “I don’t want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick mark that goal very soon in my life.”

Speaking about his girlfriend Alia Bhatt, Ranbir called her an overachiever and compared to her, he feels like an underachiever. When asked if he took any classes during the lockdown, Ranbir said, “My girlfriend Alia is a bit of an overachiever, and she probably took every class there is — from guitar to screenwriting. I always feel like an underachiever next to her. But no, I didn’t take any classes. Initially, we were dealing with the family crisis, and then I got into reading, spent time with my family, and I watch two-three films every day.”
