Ranbir Kapoor gives a MAJOR update on Brahmastra 2: It’s 10 times bigger than the Part 1

Ayan Mukerji released his most ambitious project till date, Brahmastra last year, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The film was announced as a part of a trilogy. While the Part 1 told the story of Ranbir’s Shiva, Brahmastra 2 will focus on the character of Dev. Ever since the success of the first part, the sequel is highly awaited. And now, the leading man of the film has given a major update on it.

Ranbir Kapoor updates on Brahmastra 2

A video of Ranbir from a live interactive session has surfaced online on Reddit. The video sees the actor talking about the sequel to his superhero film and it has raised the hopes of the fans. Ranbir is heard saying in the video, “So Brahmastra 2 is heavy into writing. We are working on it all the time, it was just last week that Ayan narrated the film to me. Ayan has gone ten times bigger than part 1, his idea, his thought, the characters. He is working on War 2 right now, so the plan is to finish War 2 by mid next year and we start shooting hopefully by end of next year, or beginning of next to next year. But definitely there’s a lot of work which is already happening on the film in the writing process.”

The actor also opened up on the criticism that the Part 1 receieved and how they have taken care of it in the sequel. Ranbir informed, “We have really understood the kind of criticism we got for the film. What worked for it and what didn’t work for it. So we want to put everything into consideration. From the dialogues or people saying that Shiva and Isha’s chemistry was somewhere missing… There was a lot of criticism that was constructive. So, we are taking that into our stride, and trying to understand that and kind of go beyond that.”

Brahmastra details

Brahmastra released last year in Septembe. Apart from Ranbir and Alia, it also featured Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna, and had cameos by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The film took 7 years in the making but was lauded for its visual effecṭs on its release. It was a commercial success at the box office as well as Brahmastra collected over Rs 400 crores worldwide.

The second part is supposed to have Deepika as Amrita, Shiva’s mother. It’s still under wraps who will play Dev, the main character of Part 2. Although, there have been many names that have did the rounds. Meanwhile, as informed by Ranbir, Ayan is currently busy on War 2. The film features the return of Hrithik Roshan, with the addition of Jr NTR and Kiara Advani. As for Ranbir, he is getting ready for the release of Animal on December 1.
