Ranbir Kapoor says he had ‘Sanjay Dutt hangover’ after doing his biopic Sanju

Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy promoting his film Shamshera. Ranbir will be seen fighting against Sanjay Dutt in the film. It is well known that Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt share a great bond with each other. Ranbir Kapoor played Sanjay Dutt in his biopic and won many hearts with his terrific performance in the film. Recently, Ranbir opened up about doing the film and how it affected him.

India Today quoted Ranbir as saying, “I never took a character at home. Though after I finish Sanju… it took me some time to get over the Sanjay Dutt hangover. This is because my eyes became him, I started smiling like him, and I started walking like him. So that took a little time, but other than that, no other film.”

The trailer of Shamshera was released a few weeks ago and it has left fans beyond excited. Ranbir will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar. Earlier, Ranbir opened up about being pitted against Sanjay in the film.

ETimes had quoted Ranbir saying, “It’s amazing that Sanjay Dutt is my antagonist! When I was 10 or 11, had Sanjay Dutt’s poster in my cupboard. Then eventually getting to play him in a biopic directed by Rajkumar Hirani was a dream come true.”

The actor added, “After finally getting an opportunity to work with him, to act with him, where I am the protagonist and he is the antagonist, it’s incredible! Sanjay Dutt has given us some epic villains with his brilliant acting performances and people are going to love him as Shuddh Singh in Shamshera.”

Apart from Ranbir and Sanjay, Shamshera also stars Vaani Kapoor. Ranbir will play Shamshera and Balli, Vaani will play Sona in the film. Shamshera is slated to release on 22^nd July.
