Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy promoting his upcoming Holi release Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The actor is a ball of energy during the activities. But the mention of his father, late Rishi Kapoor, leaves Ranbir Kapoor quite emotional even today.
Ranbir Kapoor on missing Rishi Kapoor and his last day of shoot
Recently, during interacting with the media, Ranbir was asked about his late father. Rishi Kapoor passed away in March 2020 and this month will mark his third death anniversary. Recently, Rishi ji was seen in the Netflix documentary on Yash Raj Films, The Romantics. Ranbir Kapoor revealed that his segment in The Romantics was the last day his father gave a shot.
Remembering Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir got quite emotional. He shared, “I miss him a lot. I miss him everyday, especially now since I have seen The Romantics. Hearing him talk made me feel so emotional. I remember it was the next day of when he was shooting for the show, that he was admitted to the hospital. And then we lost him in a month’s time.”
Ranbir on losing a parent
The actor went on to insist that losing a parent is difficult at any age. He also wished how he would have loved to see Rishi ji see him becoming a father himself. He said, “Losing a parent is a very big deal in anyone’s life. I think of him everyday. I am also blessed with a daughter now and I feel like somewhere he would have been very happy for this moment in my life.” Ranbir Kapoor also revealed how he keeps his father close to him all the time. He shared, “He is with me everyday as my screen saver on phone is still him.”
Ranbir will be seen alongside Shraddha Kapoor in the Luv Ranjan directorial Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The romcom will release theatrically on March 8, 2023.
