Ranbir Kapoor flop films distributors

Salman Khan-starrer ‘Tubelight’ was supposed to be one of the biggest hits of the year, but unfortunately that didn’t happen and the movie turned out to be a dud. Distributors faced a huge loss thanks to the film’s failure. There were reports that Salman has decided to give Rs 50-55 crore to distributors of the film. Now, Ranbir Kapoor is turning a producer with ‘Jagga Jasoos’ which is slated to hit the screens on July 14, 2017. Recently, while talking about giving money to the distributors if they face a loss due to his flop films, the actor stated that if he makes money out of a flop film, then he will pay back to the distributors.

Ranbir said, “It has been going on since my grandfather’s (Raj Kapoor) time in 1950s… the style of making films where everyone makes money, not just the producers but also distributors and exhibitors. It is a healthy exercise. If someone loses money on something and you have made money out of it, it’s good to compensate. But that depends on person to person and film to film.”

“Like when ‘Mera Naam Joker’ released, distributors incurred losses. So when ‘Bobby’ released, my grandfather gave a bigger share to the distributors than the exhibitors. Personally, if my film fails and I am making money out of it, then I will pay back the distributors,” he added.
