Ranbir Kapoor SPEAKS UP about being called ‘toxic’ over the lipstick incident with wife Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are one of the most talked about couples in the Bollywood industry. The two starred together in Brahmastra and won hearts with their chemistry. A few weeks ago, Alia Bhatt had mentioned how her husband Ranbir Kapoor does not like her wearing lipstick. As soon as Alia made this revelation, it created a stir on the social media handle. Many labeled Ranbir as the red flag and also called him toxic. Now, Ranbir finally broke the silence about this while he interacted with his fans in a Zoom session.

Ranbir Kapoor responds to Alia Bhatt’s lipstick comment

Ahead of the release of his upcoming movie, Animal, Ranbir Kapoor made quite interesting revelations about his movie during his interactions with fans. Ranbir Kapoor interacted with his followers through a Zoom session and addressed the statement made by wife Alia Bhatt and the trolling he faced after it. Ranbir shared that since he is not on social media, he does not have to deal with trolling.

He said, “Sometimes a lot of things are written about you as an actor, a lot of opinions are made which are not necessarily true and you take it for a pinch of salt because this image of mine which has been created by the movies or the characters I play or by media is something that I don’t own. It’s owned by the public who like my work or dislike my work and they are allowed to say anything about me as long as they give my work a chance as long as I can prove to them as an actor and that has always been my focus is just to act.”

He also said, “Recently, I was reading some article about being toxic and something relating to some statement I made and I understand this. And I am on the side of people who are fighting for the toxic masculinity. If they use me as the face of it, it’s fine because their fight is bigger than just me feeling bad about them having an opinion of what I said.”

What was Alia Bhatt’s lipstick incident?

In a video for a leading magazine, Alia Bhatt shared a glimpse of her makeup routine where she showed how to apply lipstick in her style. During the same, she made a revelation that her husband does not like it when she applies lipstick because he likes the natural color of her lips. Alia revealed that whenever she applies lipstick, Ranbir tells her to ‘wipe it off’. This statement caused a stir on social media where the netizens termed him as the red flag and he had to face quite a lot of negativity.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Animal. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt is working on her upcoming movie Jigra.
