Ranbir Kapoor on playing a grey character in Animal: It’s the most shocking part I’ve ever done

Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most talented and successful actors in Bollywood. Ranbir is currently basking in the success of his film Shamshera which also stars Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Now, after the release of Shamshera, Ranbir Kapoor is busy prepping for his next film Animal. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Anil Kapoor. In a recent interview, Ranbir opened up about the film and his character.

In Animal, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as a ruthless gangster while Anil will be seen playing his father. When asked how he approaches his career’s first grey role, Ranbir said that he was stunned to hear the script.

The actor added, “It’s the most shocking part I have ever done. I am scared to rejoin that film. It is a great opportunity for me as an actor. No one expects me to do such a role. I hope the audience is ready for that film from me.”

Ranbir will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in the film. Talking about his physical transformation for the role, Ranbir said, “The movie requires me to nail the grey shades rightly, and the physicality adds to the character’s menacing ways in terms of visuals. I have put on a lot of muscle.”

Apart from Animal, Ranbir also has Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in his pipeline. The actor will be sharing screen space with wife, actress Alia Bhatt. Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly making a cameo appearance in the film. Brahmastra is slated to release in September this year.
