Lovebirds Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt may be coming together for the 3-part ‘Brahmastra’ franchise, but did you know that the two will be clashing at the box-office as well. Yes, it’s slated to happen on the Bakrid day next year.
Ranbir Kapoor’s YRF film with Sanjay Dutt, ‘Shamshera’ and Alia Bhatt’s debut south film, SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ will both be hitting theatres on the same day. While the films might have totally different target audiences, one can’t deny that the collections of the films will get affected due to this clash.
‘Shamshera’ has been making the headlines ever since it was announced. It is set to get the real Sanjay Dutt and the reel Sanjay Dutt together in one frame. Ever since ‘Sanju’ came in last year and became the biggest blockbuster of the year, people have been wanting to see the two superstars in the same frame. The promotional song at the end of ‘Sanju’ left fans wanting for more.
‘RRR’, at the same time, has been in the news for being SS Rajamouli’s next after the 2-part magnum opus ‘Baahubali’. The film will be bringing together two of Telugu film’s biggest superstars onscreen for the first time – Ram Charan and Jr NTR. But for all you Bollywood fans, it will also have Alia Bhatt playing the female lead. It makes the wait for the movie even more unbearable.
Not only these two, it’s interesting to note that even the Akshay Kumar starrer Rohit Shetty film, ‘Suryavanshi’ is slated to hit theatres on the same day. It is part of the cop-universe that Rohit is trying to create with Singham, Simmba and similar cop-action dramas.
While ‘Shamshera’ and ‘Suryavanshi’ are yet to go on floors, ‘RRR’ has been shot to quite an extent. We will have to wait and watch if either of the films decide to shift their dates and move to a new slot.
