Mental illness is still not considered as a sickness and people shy away from discussion about it. No, when you suffer from some mental disease you are crazy or mad, it is as normal as a physical sickness. Our society is easily influenced by famous personalities and sometimes people also follow them blindly. So when Bollywood actors come in the open and talk about suffering from depression or any other mental illness, people become aware about it and somewhere start considering it as a serious problem.

Recently, Ranbir Kapoor, who is gearing up for the release of ‘Sanju’ has confessed that he is suffering from anxiety issues. Ranbir has been busy with the promotion of his upcoming film which is a biopic on Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. He has been giving multiple interviews and has shared some fantastic stories about his life, personal and professional. In one such interview with film critic Anupama Chopra before the release of ‘Sanju’, Ranbir shared about what he goes through before and after the release of the film. He said, “I suffer from anxiety issues after finishing a film and before the film hits theatres. It has happened with every one of my films.”

This is an important point to note for all those people who thought that the film industry is all about glam and fame. The harsh reality is, there is stress and pressure even here and the biggest of stars suffer from mental illness. In the past, Deepika Padukone, Ileana D’Cruz have also openly spoken about battling depression, and we are glad they did.

Ranbir’s upcoming film, ‘Sanju’ also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Jim Sarbh, Karishma Tanna, Boman Irani and others. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani the film will release on June 29.
