Ranbir Kapoor to take the story forward in the sequel of Aamir Khan’s PK

Aamir Khan starrer PK was an absolute hit in 2014 and it was a total fan favourite. Aamir played the character of an alien who was stuck on Earth trying to find his way back home. Towards the end of the movie, we had seen Ranbir Kapoor stepping down on earth as a fellow alien to PK. Well, looks like Ranbir will take the story ahead in PK’s sequel very soon.

Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra revealed that the story is yet to be written but Ranbir’s tale is to be told. Vidhu confirmed that there will be a sequel for sure but the correct story still needs to be written.

According to a report by Mid-Day, the filmmaker said, “We will make the sequel. We had shown Ranbir [Kapoor’s character landing on the planet] towards the end of the film, so there is a story to tell. But Abhijat [Joshi, writer] has not written it yet. The day he writes it, we will make it.”

It is no secret that fil franchises are a gold mine and generate great revenue but it seems like Chopra is more into the story than the money, he said, “We are not in the business of making money, we are in the business of making cinema. If making money [was our goal], by now, we would have made six to seven [instalments of] Munna Bhai, and two to three [editions of] PK. We seek joy, happiness and peace over a few crores.”

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Shamshera which releases this year in June this year. The actor will also star in Brahmastra alongside Alia Bhatt.
