Actor Ranbir Kapoor says he doesn’t wish to take away his “Tamasha” co-star Deepika Padukone’s credit by calling her lucky charm.

At the launch of Chemistry Meter as a part of a promotional strategy, Ranbir and Deepika addressed the media where Ranbir said: “I think when you call an actor a lucky charm, you are somehow discrediting his or her achievement.”

“Deepika is a hard worker and whatever she has achieved till date is because of her tremendous effort. I wouldn’t like to call her lucky charm,” he added about the actress, who has given hits like “Piku” and “Happy New Year”.

Ranbir also thinks Deepika is an effortless actress who makes her choice in films perfectly. “She gives her heart and soul to every film and her choice of work is commendable. I think all the credit goes to her,” he said.

Talking about their on-screen and off-screen chemistry, the “Bombay Velvet” actor said about his former lover: “We have been in this industry for eight years. We both are trying our best as actors and hope that the audience will love our performance on-screen. Deepika and I are dear friends and I am a big fan of hers. So, we don’t worry about our personal equation or what others think of it.”

Deepika agreed with Ranbir. “We usually agree with each other. But I feel very uncomfortable when people ask something like this. More than anything else, I value the friendship and respect we have for each other.”

“Tamasha” is scheduled to release on November 27.
