Rajkumar Hirani: I will do five movies with Ranbir Kapoor

Director Rajkumar Hirani is currently witnessing a high point in his career, due credits to his latest venture and vision ‘Sanju’. Casting actor Ranbir Kapoor to play the role of Sanjay Dutt, was a very wise choice made by Hirani, and the box office collections are a proof of it. ‘Sanju’ has not only been critically acclaimed but has also become the blockbuster hit of the year. Minting Rs 279 crores at the BO, the movie based on the life of Dutt has shattered records of many big banner movies.

Post the magnificent success of the film, it would be quite natural that Ranbir and Rajkumar, team up again for another project. In fact, Kapoor Jr is genuinely interested in working with his ‘Sanju’ director again. According to a report in DNA, the actor had expressed his desire during the promotions of their latest film.

A source close to leading daily said, “Ranbir told Raju that so far he’s made two movies each with Sanjay Dutt and Aamir Khan and all of them became huge hits. So he wanted to know when would the filmmaker do his second film with him as the leading man, discounting his cameo in ‘PK’ “.

“Ranbir Kapoor also asked how many movies would Raju make with him.” the source added. To which the filmmaker happily replied, ‘‘I’ll do five movies with you.”

Well, it would definitely be interesting to see the director-actor duo teaming up again. Meanwhile, talking about their latest project ‘Sanju’, the movie hit the theatres on 29th June and has been running exceptionally well at the domestic as well as foreign market.
