Rani Mukerji is one actress who likes to stay away from the controversies, but after a long time she is in news for a wrong reason. The actress has landed herself into a legal trouble over an alleged construction work being carried out illegally at her bungalow in Juhu.
The actress was apparently granted commencement certificate (CC) for the construction of her bungalow Krishna Ram in Juhu in 2014. The validity of CC was reportedly valid only till November 2015. And now, some of the activists have alleged that the height of Rani’s bungalow was increased after CC was expired.
Activist and chairman of Aamhi Jagrut Mumbaikar, Nikitesh Chaubal told Mid-Day, “The CC was taken from BMC in 2014 and expired in 2015, but construction work is still going on. No re-validation process has taken place.”
A civic official told the tabloid, “The K-west ward office got complaints from activists regarding alleged construction work being carried out illegally, in violation of the approved plans that were submitted to BMC’s Building Proposal Department. On receiving the complaint, we issued a notice to the owner and paid a visit but were not allowed to inspect the premises.”
The news confirmed by Prashant Gaikwad, the assistant civic commissioner of K-west. He told Mid-Day, “We issued a notice a week ago, under section 488 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, which allows BMC to enter a building or land for inspection.”
Reportedly, BMC visited Rani’s house, but they were told to go back. Now they are planning to visit her again on August 30.
Well, the actress’ spokesperson has stated that every year the CC was revalidated and even the bungalow has been constructed as per the approved plans.
When it comes to films, Rani will next be seen in ‘Hichki’ and her fans are eagerly waiting to see her back on the big screen. (Also Read: When Rani Mukerji gave male cops of B-Town a run for their money)
