‘Bunty Aur Babli 2′: Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan starrer to have a Christmas release?

Yash Raj Films has reportedly decided to stay away from the OTT releases and stick to a theatrical release in support of the exhibitors after the theatres being shut. It is said that since the state has got a green signal for the authorities for the theatres to get back in business, Aditya Chopra is planning to have a Christmas release for his Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji starrer ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’.

According to a report by Mid-day, a source revealed, “With theatres expected to be up and running, filmmakers have begun zeroing in on release windows for their movies. Considering Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a light-hearted con caper, the makers feel it would be an ideal festival outing. The Christmas window is empty after the team of Ranveer Singh’s 83 decided to push its release to 2021. However, the talks are at a nascent stage. They will arrive at a decision in the coming weeks.”

Earlier, in a statement, talking about ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’, Saif had said, “Bunty Aur Babli 2′ is a completely rebooted sequel and is set in today’s time. It is a fantastic script that hooked me on instantly. It is an out and out entertainer for the entire family to sit and enjoy and this is what I loved and connected with. Also, it’s a new role for me, new language and milieu and that’s what I really look for in a script. I also love the dynamics between the originals and the new Bunty Babli in the film. It’s fresh, hilarious and extremely engaging. Rani and I have always had a lot of fun working with each other and I’m looking forward to our creative collaboration again. It’s also equally amazing to be back home at YRF again.”

‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ will be helmed by Varun V Sharma and the movie also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari.
