Rani Mukerji to skip Durga Puja this year

Bollywood beauty Rani Mukerji who had tied the knot with her filmmaker boyfriend Aditya Chopra in a very private ceremony in Italy last year, is on the family way. The reclusive couple who do not come out much in public has taken steps to guard their privacy zealously. Therefore this year the Chopra bahu has decided to stay away from her family Durga Pooja celebrations.

The Mukherjee family puja is a grand affair in the industry. Rani Mukerji who is a devout Durga bhakt has been organising puja with her cousin Kajol at the family pandal. Seems like this year fans will not be able to see her in attendance. The reason for her absence is that she does not want to be photographed with her baby bump. So she has left the country for foreign shores.

Confirming the news, Deb Mukherjee said, “Everybody is invited. The committee does not send out invitations. Rani comes every year and serves the bhog. But I am not sure if she will do it this year.”
