Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum-opus ‘Padmavati’ is one film that we are desperately looking forward to. It is one of the most anticipated films of the year and is expected to be a successful one as well. Especially with the way secrecy and mystery is being maintained around the shooting of the film, ‘Padmavati’ indeed seems to be the one to look forward too.
The shooting of the film is on and the stars are putting their heart and soul in getting the characters right. This could be gauged from how Ranveer Singh braced 24 slaps from Raza Murad to get that shot right. Ranveer recently took to his Twitter handle to share a report stating that Sanjay Leela Bhansali took 24 retakes of a scene wherein Raza Murad is slapping Ranveer Singh. Sharing the story, Ranveer commented, “True Story”.

This has made us more curious for the film. Ranveer essays the role of Alauddin Khilji in this film. ‘Padmavati’ is a historical drama based on the life of Queen Padmavati who performed jauhar to save her dignity. History states that Alauddin Khilji invaded Chittor Fort in order to captivate Queen Padmavati. Deepika would be the Queen Padmavati in this film while Shahid Kapoor will be Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, the ruler of Mewar and Padmavati’s husband.
‘Padmavati’ is slated to release on November 17, 2017, but reports are making the rounds that film may get postponed. It’s just two months to go for the release but the shooting hasn’t been wrapped yet. (Also Read: Deepika Padukone has not yet wrapped up the shooting of ‘Padmavati’)
