Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor react as Sania Mirza announces retirement

Tennis star Sania Mirza announced her retirement on Wednesday. The tennis star announced that 2022 will be her last season since her body is ‘wearing down’. Sania made the announcement about her retirement after she lost the Australian Open women’s doubles first round against Nadiia Kichenok. Several celebrities reacted to the announcement. Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor reacted as Sania Mirza announced her retirement after the 2022 season. The Bollywood actors heaped praise for Sania Mirza and even showed support for her decision.

Taking to his Instagram stories, the Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani actor shared a picture of Sania after one of her matches. The picture features Mirza holding the Indian flag and raising it high up. Ranveer Singh shared the picture of Sania and called her ‘Queen’. He wrote, “Queen,” and added a crown emoji. The actor even tagged Sania in the post.

Apart from Ranveer, actor Arjun Kapoor also reacted to the news about Sania’s retirement. The actor called her an ‘inspiration’. He shared a news report about Mirza’s retirement plan and wrote, “Truly an inspiration to many.”

Meanwhile, during a press conference after the match, Sania announced her retirement plans. She said, “There are a bunch of reasons for it. It’s not as simple as ‘okay I’m not going to play’. I do feel my recovery is taking longer, I do feel, considering my son is three years old, I’m putting him at risk by travelling so much with him, that’s something I have to take into account.” The tennis star said that her body is wearing down.
