Bollywood production houses like Disney UTV and Balaji Motion Pictures, which have borne huge losses with their not-so-successful films in the recent past have now reportedly decided to pull out of Hindi film production for a while now. With this happening, it is a tough time for the makers.

And now a mega-budget film like Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ has to face the consequences. The movie starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor is estimated to cost at least Rs 150 crore, considering Bhansali’s love for the aesthetics, costumes and expensive sets, and reportedly no production house can individually bear the amount. While the director has been finding producers for the film for a while now, he finally got some good news.

According to reports, Eros International and Viacom 18 together are planning to produce ‘Padmavati’. Both the production houses have worked with the director before and have faith in his film-making skills.

The studios are now in talks with each other to finalise the deal. An official announcement is awaited.
