Indian Football Captain Sunil Chhetri announced his retirement on Thursday, May 16, leaving many fans heartbroken. Among many, actor Ranveer Singh too got emotional with his retirement. As soon as Sunil shared a video, Ranveer dropped an emotional comment, calling him an icon, hero and legend. He mentioned that it’s a bittersweet moment for everyone and Sunil has inspired people with his greatness.
The Gully Boy actor dropped a comment saying, “ICON. HERO. LEGEND. A bittersweet moment for us, who have been touched and inspired by your greatness. Thank you for bringing us so much joy and glory, Captain. Love you forever!” On the other hand, Virat Kohli who shares good equations with him wrote, “My brother. PROUD.” Whereas Siddharth commented, “Much love Sunil. Have a happy and strong last show. Full power man.”

For the unversed, Sunil became the captain of the Indian Football team and was bestowed with the title of Captain Fantastic. The 39-year-old footballer was known for his phenomenal stamina and consistent attacking intent. In the video, expressing his grief, Sunil said, “The feel that I recollect in the last 19 years is a very nice combination of duty, pressure and immense joy.”
