Ranveer Singh: If ‘Padmaavat’ was titled ‘Khilji’, the producers’ money wouldn’t be at stake

While ‘Padmaavat’ has been receiving mixed reviews from audience as well as critics, Ranveer Singh has technically stolen the show away.

The film released after a row of controversies, at a time we almost thought it wouldn’t see lights of the theatres. After witnessing Ranveer’s marvelous performance, many said the film should’ve been named after Alauddin Khilji and not Rani Padmavati.

At an event yesterday, when asked about the same, Ranveer couldn’t help but laugh.

“If that would have happened there would have been no controversy at all…the producers’ money would not have be at risk,” he said.

True that. However given your deliverance, you were indeed a right contender to play the titular role, Ranveer!
