Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline, Pooja bring back the 60s romance in not-so-retro song Aashiqui from Cirkus

The makers of Cirkus have released another song, Aashiqui, from the album, which is catchy and quirky. The song features Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde, all dressed in the vintage style. Interestingly, we just don’t see them headlining the song but we also see the entire cast of Cirkus featuring in the Aashiqui song.

Stars like Varun Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar, Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever, Mukesh Tiwari, Siddhartha Jadhav and others are also seen in the video which looks quite fascinating. Considering that Ranveer will be seen in dual roles, the Gully Boy actor is seen romancing both Pooja and Jacqueline in the Aashiqui song. Given the fact that the comedy-drama is set in the 60s, we see all of them dancing and grooving on an elaborate set just like it used to happen back in the era.

Aashiqui is sung by Badshah and Amrita Singh while the lyrics and composition of the song are done by Badshah. However, in some parts, the music of the song reminded us of Badshah’s previous hit song, Jugnu.

Earlier, at the launch event of the electrifying song, filmmaker Rohit Shetty praised his hero Ranveer Singh and called him ‘a generator’.

On being asked how different it is to direct Ranveer Singh, director Rohit Shetty said, “He is very hardworking. For this song, he rehearsed for ten days. If you see Simmba or if you see Cirkus now, what makes the difference in my film is his energy, from all other films that I have done till now. Simmba is very special for me, Cirkus will also be very special where comedy is concerned and the credit goes to Ranveer for that.”

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Cirkus will be released on December 23, 2023, in the theatres.
