Ranveer Singh no more a part of ‘Gully Boy’, makers approach Varun Dhawan?

There have been reports that Ranveer Singh will be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s next which is titled as ‘Gully Boy’. It was also said that the film will star Alia Bhatt as the female lead. However, now if reports are to be believed, Ranveer has opted out of the film.

Ranveer is currently busy shooting Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’, and after that reportedly he will be do a film with Shimit Amin and Rohit Shetty. The actor has his date diary blocked for nearly next two years. And now, it is said that the makers are planning to approach Varun Dhawan for the role. A source said, “Ranveer’s first loyalty is with YRF, hence when it was obvious he had to choose between Zoya and Shimit, he opted for his mentor Aditya Chopra’s production. Varun has liked Zoya’s story and is trying to work out his dates for the film, which starts next year.”

Earlier in an interview, when Zoya was asked about the casting, she had said, “Nothing has been sealed till now. It’s too premature to make any announcement. But yes, I love Ranveer and would love to work with him.”

Ranveer has worked with Zoya in ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ which had released last year.
