Ranveer Singh is one of the versatile actors in Bollywood. He was last seen in Kabir Khan’s directorial 83. The actor essayed the role of cricket legend Kapil Dev in the same. He won hearts with his terrific acting. However, the film failed to do well at the box office. Now, Ranveer Singh has opened up about 83’s box office failure. The actor called it is a matter of bad timing and added that he is happy with the love it got from the audience.
Speaking with India Today, Ranveer Singh said, “83 was criticized by the trade for not having as much money as it was projected to make. I would like to establish that it still made around Rs 200 crore in the middle of the third wave which is not bad at all. That many people went to watch it inspite of the third wave spreading like wildfire across the world. It was just a case of unfortunate timing.”

The actor further added that it was a bad time to release the movie, but he is happy that the film received love from people who watched it. He said, “Perhaps it wasn’t a profitable film in terms of just money, but I will tell you it is among my most loved films. There is unanimous love for this film.”
Up next, Ranveer has interesting projects in the pipeline. The actor will be seen in Divyang Thakkar’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar. It also stars Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah. The film is slated to release on May 13.
Other than that, Ranveer will also be seen in Cirkus. The actor also has Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in his kitty. He is reuniting his Gully Boy co-star Alia Bhatt in the same. The film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
