Ranveer Singh shares a special post for OG Kapil Dev on his birthday- watch video

Ranveer Singh is all set to play former Indian skipper Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan’s ’83. Today on the occasion of Kapil Dev’s 62nd birthday, Ranveer shared a special video for him and thanked him from the bottom of his heart.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Ranveer shared a heartfelt birthday wish for Kapil Dev. “Colossus of a Captain! Gem of a person! Thank you Sir for embracing us and allowing us to tell your extraordinary story! Here’s wishing the OG @therealkapildev good health and joy on his special day! #ThisIs83 #HappyBirthdayKapilDev (sic).

Alongside the message, Ranveer also posted a video of Kapil sharing some valuable life lessons. Kapil can be heard saying, “Just play with passion. If your mind tells you to do something, do it and don’t hold back. That’s what I have learned in my life and I tell all the youngsters, ‘Go enjoy yourself, don’t take the burden, don’t take the pressure.” The video also consists of glimpses of the film’s shoot and how the cast and crew were delighted to have Kapil on the sets.

Kabir Khan’s ’83’ is based on Team India’s victory at the 1983 Cricket World Cup. The film was scheduled to release last year however owing to the pandemic its theatrical release was put on hold. The film also features, Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, Amy Virk, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar among others. Interestingly, Ranveer’s wife Deepika will be playing his reel wife in this sports drama.

The makers of ’83’ are yet to announce its new release date.
