These days Ranveer Singh is riding high on success as his movie ‘Simmba’ has entered the coveted Rs 200 crore club. After a mini honeymoon with his wifey Deepika Padukone, the actor is back to work and he seems to be preparing for his next ’83’.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Ranveer shared a monochrome picture where he is seen on strike. Though his face is blurred we can make it out that Ranveer is prepping for his role in ’83’. For the uninitiated, in ’83’, Ranveer will be playing the role of former Indian captain Kapil Dev. He captioned the picture with hashtags #kapildev and #balwindersinghsandhu and tagged the director of the movie Kabir Khan. Have a look the picture below.

’83’ is about the story of skipper Kapil Dev and the Indian national cricket team when they won the World Cup title against West Indies in 1983. Earlier at the launch of ’83’ when Ranveer was asked about his reaction on being offered the role of Kapil Dev, he said, “I was born at the time when cricket was big time. When Kabir Sahab (director Kabir Khan) had come to me and said that there will be a film on 83, I was like finally. And when he was narrating it to me, I was like woooh. It is not a story just about cricket but a human story.”

We are now eagerly waiting for Ranveer to see in the character of Kapil Dev. Apart from ’83’, Ranveer has ‘Takht’ in the pipeline.
